Space was a space disco group from Marseilles, France. This one comes off the 1977 Metropolis release. It is still the most epic space disco track ever. The pic above was from my trip to Malibu over the holiday where I was visiting and partying with some good friends who live next to Babs, Mccaughney, and Hans Zimmer . A washed up (so to speak) drunken sailor beached his 37' recording studio in this precious paradise while in-route to LA from Santa Barbara. He and his two cats survived. I threw my back out removing a strange piece of gear that would have been better served as a boat anchor.

Space - Magic Fly

Juggling computer programs and interfaces is hard enough now, I can't imagine how things were done in the good old days. Ugg, a frustrating night indeed. Welcome to space, bitches. This track came out on the Canadian label P.B.I. Records in 1981. Jean Pierre Bernard Massiera, the producer also put out a record of the same title in 1978 as the group Herman's Rocket on a French Label. It sounds like R2D2 made a guest appearance on this cut.

Venus Gang - Space Woman

Harari was a soul group from Johannesburg South Africa. They were originally called The Beaters. Party, produced by Michael Stokes was released in 1980. The track became a pretty big club hit in 1982 and soon after, the group broke up with it's members pursuing solo acts. Band leader, Sipho Mabusse went on to put out a cool electro track called Burn Out in 1985 (which I will cover in the future).

Party is a Loft classic that is loaded with feel good party energy.

Harari- Party (LeBaron Edit)

This is a big tune from a very big dude. Demis Roussos is an ethnic Greek via Egypt who played in a bunch of bands including the prog rock group Aphrodite's Child. Fellow bandmate, Vangelis (whose full name is Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou for those of you keeping track) arranged this and may other of Demis' tracks. Demis has had a very long career singing in every European language you can imagine, but most of that does not concern us. He came out with a great disco record in 1977 called Magic and a 1978 folow up self titled LP with the brilliant and highly saught after track L.O.V.E. Got Ahold Of Me. This rip comes from the French 7" of Mourir Aupres De Mon Amour (a tender panty dropper) where it is a B side.

I have added Who by Odyssey, which is the original version of the track. Odyssey was a one off project featuring Vangelis.
