Dâm-Funk

In advance of the show on Friday I felt it necessary to post a couple of tracks as well as a mix Dâm-Funk did for BBC radio whilst on his most recent European tour. As I have been following him over the last couple of years, it is interesting to see how Dâm has so heavily developed and evolved this style of music he has aptly coined Modern Funk. Give it a few years and if we are all lucky, the man will own a radio station or two in just about every market.

Thanks to our friends from the Donuts crew, Dâm-Funk performs Friday 9/11/9 at Poleng Lounge in the Nopa district of SF. DJ's from Beat Electric and Sweater Funk open. This event is pretty much essential.

    Dâm-Funk is damn good!

His sound is a nice blend of the past, the present, and the future, all rolled into one!

I can't catch the SF show, but I see he's spinning at the Guggenheim in NYC on October 2, my hometown.......

He has a cool look also. He looks like the kind of guy you'd see hanging out at Milliways, the "Restaurant at the End of the Universe". Either spinning records, or waiting for the Prophet Zarquon to finally show up!

Anyone know if Dâm-Funk drinks Pan Galactic Garggle Blasters??

I have no idea what he drinks but I hear he hates Vogon Poetry.
