Candela
The Bell family from Youngston, Ohio produced three brothers who made immense contributions to the jazz/disco/funk scene in the 70s and 80s. Robert and Ronald Bell formed a group The Jazziacs that eventually became Kool & The Gang. Kevin Bell, also known by his Arabic name Amir Bayyan, formed Kool protege group The Kay Gees. Kevin was a prolific musician and producer, also playing in the group Forecast and producing jams for Armenta, LaToya Jackson, Tomorrow's Edition, and Jimmy Cliff. Here is one of his tight one-off tracks under the name Candela released in 1982 and mastered by Herb Powers Jr.

I LOVE this track man. There is a very interesting back story to this group that I read on youtube once. I can't find the link now, been looking for an hour, but I think the lead singer was shot and killed over a week after this was released. I could be mistaken if it was him that was killed but I do know that a robbery took place in a sandwich shop in NYC right after this record was released and he was fatally shot. Which would make sense why Candela only has this single release out. :(

Actually another single was released in 1983 called 'She Said', which is nowhere to be found on the internet, but i got a 7" with the track at home (Long and short version) from the US. Interesting track, but not quite as sharp as 'Love You Madly'.
