Dr. York - Shake-n-Skate

Skateboarding had punk, roller skating had disco, hence roller skating is one of the most popular youth culture movements on the planet, with millionaire professional icons and an entire industry that feeds off of it, and skateboarding is a thing of the past, last practiced by Marty McFly as he escaped Biff the town bully.

This is Roller Skating's best song.

It was recorded by Dr. York, who is now doing 140 years in federal prison for a very unsavory conviction.

Solid! I didn't know there were any good roller disco tracks!

This is a new track to me, but I like it a lot. I'm interested to know what the guy was convicted of though?

He ran a cult in rural Georgia, molesting the children of cult members..

I used to get on the mic and tell people about it whenever I played this tune out, but I was recently asked to stop.

    bummer.

    thx.
    great roller track :)

In 2002 York was arrested and charged with over a hundred counts of sexually molesting dozens of children, some as young as four years old. According to Bill Osinski, who wrote a book on the case: "When he was finally indicted, state prosecutors literally had to cut back the number of counts listed — from well beyond a thousand to slightly more than 200 — because they feared a jury simply wouldn’t believe the magnitude of York's evil. It is believed to be the nation’s largest child molestation prosecution ever directed at a single person, in terms of number of victims and number of alleged criminal acts."

    Hi Black Shag,

Thanks for posting; I actually own this record with the weird Stop Sign cover on a really ratty cardboard sleeve. It is amazing.

    R. Kelly has nothing on the Doctor! The man was a sick dude. As usual, we can never know where great music will come from.

    Peace, Jerome

I think this is the first song about roller skating that I'd actually play. Nice! (Well, except for the whole molestation cult thing)

This is great ... but I also love "Bounce, Rock, Skate and Roll" roller-wise.

    Peel that wheel!

You can tell from the picture. Same eyes as gary glitter. A bonafide pederast!

Dr. York was set up by corrupt officials. NO DNA EVIDENCE, even though his accusers claim he had sex with up to 12 ppl per day, every day, from the ages of 40-60. pur-lease!! Many of the 'so called' victims had Chlamydia which Dr York doesn't & has never had. His medical records prove this. Half of his 'so called' victims have recanted their statements & admitted that they were coerced & threatened by FBI officials. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh0CSTEVhY4 He was illegally tried on MLK day which is an official holiday & when mentioned to Judge Ashley Royal, the Judge replied, "I don't care." For the truth, check out hesinnocent.com

    Oh yeah... and... great song.
