Powerline
Powerline is a collaborative effort between Andy Sojka and Jerry Pike. This track, "Double Journey", is a 13+ minute musical endeavor released on both Elite and Prelude Records in 1981, then again by Françios K.'s label Wave Music in 1998. The bassline in this track is perfectly laid back yet driving. The track was mastered by famed Herb Powers Jr. and it is a true pleasure to listen to. There is a rather hard to find promo release of "Double Journey" on Prelude which is what is posted here.
My apologies for such a poor photo, I am clearly not a strong swimmer when it comes to the photographic arts.

haha good luck getting anybody not on acid to dance to this one! Gotta say I have to go against convention here in saying I prefer just plain "journey" to "double journey".

You are quite right. This track pulls much of it's dancing roots in the acid influenced scene, namely as a Loft classic. We all know Mancuso's parties were infamous for their use of acid. It does require a sort of mindful yet lax listener as it doesn't hit you over the head as a straightforward floor filling dance track. Each instrument is given the space it needs to stand out, which often leaves the track feeling a bit open to some. That being said, I have seen this track really drive the dance floor. You can't underestimate that bassline.
